You Almost Lost Me
August 20th, 2006 | by Molly's Brother |Had you walked by my abode earlier today, you would have heard that quintessentially cinematic and effectively overdramatic “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” with a thousand o’s. Had you seen me earlier today, you would have seen me looking towards the heavens, blundering the same phrase repeatedly, “Why God? Why?” Minutes after my questions for God, you might have tried to engage me in a conversation, but I would have had that far off look of despair and total failure on my face.
You see, on the heels of sharing with the world how great it felt for a technological newbie like me to actually crawl through line of code after line of code and fix my own internet problems, after a pride filled post detailing the victory…well…I lost it all.
And it was all my fault.
In trying to clean up my blog a bit, I deleted my own back-up while I was in the process of trying to reinstall some things.
I had a moment of panic–well, sixty-three minutes of panic–until my hosting company was able to restore my blog. Sure, I’ve lost the last three days of posts and, you know, a couple of them were actually pretty good.
But it beats the heck out of having to start completely from scratch.
