    The Price of Being Uninsured

    By Molly's Brother | August 23, 2006

There’s a very poignant post over at InsureBlog that talks about the possible financial dangers a medical emergency poses. Most importantly, the family friend he mentions in his post seems to be recovering well. Thankfully, too, the headache in having to deal with the hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills has been averted because this woman was insured.

The monthly premiums we pay out of pocket–though expensive at first glance–dwarf in comparison to the amount of money we’re forced to pay if we are caught uninsured.

Head on over and read the whole story.

      $680,000 and Counting . . .

The bills are still coming in, but not as frequently or as large as they were initially. As of now the total is $680,000 . . . most of which was paid by insurance.

Again, thankfully your friend is on the road to recovery.

And hopefully this one story will serve as a reminder to others how important it is to always have health insurance–even if it’s out of pocket.
