“Free” Credit Reports That Aren’t
By Molly's Brother | September 12, 2006
Great article on MSNBC.com this morning about “free” credit reports.
Seems that it’s actually a site operated by Experion and by requesting your “free” credit report, you’re also agreeing to pay a $79 annual fee.
If you want your free annual credit report, be sure to make your way to AnnualCreditReport.comÂ
On a final note, you should be EXTREMELY careful about requesting these free credit reports. It’s been previously reported that other sites–like MyFreeCreditReport.com–that are playing on this confusion and are solely phishing sites, established to gather and disseminate your identity and personal information.
As always, especially with the internet, buyer beware.
