Vol. I, Issue 6: Festival of Under 30 Finance

    By Molly's Brother | September 22, 2006

The 6th Festival of Under 30 Finance is here. (It’s my first time serving as host to any carnival, so this is a big day for me). Please, pull up chair, brew a pot of coffee and join me as we stroll through the world of personal finance. This festival is filled with great tips to help recent college grads, those under 30, and those who were once under 30 (”Let’s face it, sooner or later we’ll all be there,” he says as he hears the tick tick tick of time…) Sit back and enjoy!

Ms. Miniducky poses a wonderful question in Who was richer? Scrooge McDuck or Croesus? I’m just wondering …. Head on over and weigh in on the issue. (I knew Scrooge McDuck. But Croesus? Wow. She’s got book learnin’.)

Wenchypoo shares with us that FICO Scores Under Siege…Again! posted at Frugal Wisdom from Wenchypoo’s Warehouse. It’s a great post. They’ll get us every way they can.

Read Chuck’s recent experience as he talks about his recent Student Loan Consolidations posted at The Finance Journey.

Daniel is thinking about upcoming weddings as he offers Quick Saving Advice For The College Graduate! over at My Money Path.

Kira ain’t a frugal one, as she confesses to us the “Things I am willing to pay for that if I were really frugal I wouldn’t buy” at Penny Foolish. (It’s okay, Kira. I’m not a devout frugalist either.)

Free the Drones Blog gives us a link to Check for Unclaimed Assets - Someone Might Owe You Money over at Free the Drones. If you’ve moved a ton, it’s always a good idea to check and see if there is money out there with your name on it!

Golbguru’s money seems to disappear. Mine burns a whole in my pocket. Same difference, I guess. See what he’s doing about it at Cashless Days Begin posted at Money, Matter and More Musings. (By the way…$10?!?! He’s a disciplined spender!)

Amanda tells us what all those little numbers mean and why they’re there as she breaks down Check Anatomy at Young and Broke.

Kelby provides tips so we can all Afford a Dream Family Vacation posted at Family Travel.

Steve Faber shares with use fantastic ways to save in his post Be Really Cheap – 5 Ways to Get Way More for Your Money, a Lot More at Debt Free.

David Porter presents 5 Steps to Avoid Foreclosure on your Home posted at Pacesetter Mortgage Blog. (I have one step: PAY YOUR BILLS!)
Praveen presents My Simple Trading System: My Stock Trading System posted at My Simple Trading System.

The Landlord presents Brokers are NOT your friends posted at Lording the Land.

Bryan C. Fleming presents How to Build the Habit of Saving posted at Bryan C. Fleming .com.

Chuck Russell shares with us the ideal time to get a New Car Quote over at buyanauto.

And be sure to check back later in the day to read the answers to the question that was posed for this festival. Until then, enjoy the Festival of Under 30 Finance!

MBOAB…I will let you know if I live to see the end of the month on $10….so far it looks like I will. It’s possible mostly because everyone here (except the laundry) accepts credit cards :)
