Ways To Save: Call to Complain

November 17th, 2006 | by Molly's Brother |

Over the course of the past six weeks, my cable service has been abysmal. Six to ten times every thirty minutes, the picture tiles out, freezes, and then blacks out completely. Regardless of how much or how little television I watch, the fact remains that I am paying for a service that, I expect, to be nearly perfect.

The bill arrived the other day and I thought to myself, “There’s no way I am paying for this service.”

So I called customer service and politely stated my case. After stating–quite seriously–that I was looking at offers for satellite television, the credited me for the upcoming month as well.

One twenty minute phone call ended up saving me over $100.

In short, pick up the phone, use your rights as a consumer and exercise your voice.
