Quick Tip: Strategy for Stocking Stuffers
December 13th, 2006 | by Molly's Brother |Although, it might be too late for you this year, my friend Jenn shared with me how she shops for stocking stuffers.
Let’s face it. Stocking stuffers are the bastard-child of Christmas morning. They’re the after-thought. A lot of thought goes into the big gifts for the Christmas gift exchange, but beyond the socks and batteries, little forethought goes into the stocking stuffer.
So here are Jenn’s ideas:
- MAKE A LIST Around Thanksgiving, my friend Jenn sits down and writes down a comprehensive and complete list of stocking stuffer ideas for each stocking that she has to fill.
- BUY SOMETHING ON EVERY OUTING Then, throughout the holiday shopping season, she carries her list with her everywhere. It goes with her to the grocery store, to Target, to the mall, to Starbucks…everywhere. This way, she makes sure that she can–litle-by-little–knock off an item or two on her list with every outing.
This might not be revolutionary to most, but for me its groundbreaking. Why? Because, like most men, I’m the guy who hits the mall at 10 A.M. on December 23rd with the intention to knock out all my Christmas shopping in on fell swoop.
